RPL Registry & Tissue BioBank

ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT05989178

The Early Pregnancy Research Program, in partnership with the Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Clinic at BC Women’s Hospital , leads a comprehensive research initiative aimed at improving care for individuals affected by recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL), defined as two or more pregnancy losses before 20 weeks’ gestation.

Our research platform includes:

  1. Prospective Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Registry (ProRPL Registry): A longitudinal data repository capturing detailed clinical and psychosocial information from patients seen at the RPL Clinic.
  1. Tissue BioBank: A secure biorepository for tissue samples from consenting patients who experience miscarriage during their care at the Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Clinic.

This forms one of the largest and most detailed RPL-focused research infrastructures in Canada. As of July 2025, the Registry includes data from over 470 patients. These efforts support patient-oriented, translational research aimed at uncovering the causes, identifying new treatments, and improving outcomes for those experiencing recurrent pregnancy loss.

Note: We are not currently accepting external data requests.
